How it all started
I am Madeleen van der Merwe, At heart, I’m a farm girl. Born and bred in Aranos, Namibia, where I spent the first few years of my life. I graduated at Isa Carstens Health and Skincare Academy in Stellenbosch and furthered my education at the ‘Fashion-Photography Hair and Make-Up Artistry’ Institute in Cape Town.
My entrepreneurial spirit challenged me to always push the limits. What started off as a small-scale bridal makeup service from my hostel room in 2004, soon blossomed into a full-fledged treatment hub in my apartment. Doing hair and makeup for the MNET series “KNOWN GODS” and lecturing makeup at Stellenbosch International Photography School broadened my industry knowledge and relationships.
The treatment hub grew to a business being awarded the best in South Africa. Never despise the day of small beginnings. Celebrating over 20 years of running a business resulted in experiences, habits and lessons shouting to be shared. Today I find purpose in connecting, inspiring and encouraging every human being.
My goal with every interaction, personally or professionally, is to drop reminders of important questions to consider and approach life with hope, excitement and anticipation.
