Picture this: it’s 10 a.m., and you’re standing at the edge of the metaphorical cliff called Life. Below, there’s a sparkling lake of possibility just waiting for you to dive in. Maybe it’s a new hobby, a date, a career shift, or simply ordering a pizza with toppings you’ve never dared try before.
The crowd is chanting, as they did with me on the bridge 5,4,3,2,1…. “BUNGEEEEEE!” and you’re right there on the edge, ready to go. But just as you’re about to take the leap, she shows up…Miss Overthink. She doesn’t knock; she just barges right in, pulling out flowcharts, pros and cons lists, and a PowerPoint presentation titled “Why This Jump Needs More Analysis”.
Miss Overthink says, “Wait a second! Let’s consider all the factors here. What if you hurt your back and have permanent damage? What if the rope breaks and I die? What if I…?” Suddenly, she’s there with her clipboard, quizzing you on your entire life plan. Next thing you know, you’re spiraling down a rabbit hole of scenarios ranging from mildly awkward to global catastrophe.
While she’s on slide three, you look down and realize… everyone else has already jumped. They’re splashing around, laughing, living life. They’re already halfway through the adventure, and you’re still up here holding hands with Miss Overthink.
And that’s when it hits you—sometimes you’ve just gotta stop listening to Miss Overthink and JUST JUMP! It’s messy, it’s unpredictable, and maybe the water’s a little chilly. But here’s the thing: it’s real, it’s life, and it’s a heck of a lot more fun when you’re in the splash zone instead of on the sidelines.
